On September 25 afternoon, president Zhou Xuhong of our school visited DSLab, accompanied by the party secretary Sun Zhaohui and vice dean Sun Yigong of the Information Science and Engineering College and others.
Dslab persons responsible DR. Zhou Qingguo made a brief report on the basic situation of lab and the lab’s research results to president Zhou.

The Training of IBM Power Architecture Design Challenge for Students was held on July 16th and 17th in Lanzhou University. During the training, Liu Qianru Enginneer who is the chip design engineer comes from Global Engineer Solution department (IBM China) and Mr. Siro Arthur working in DSLab as the reseach asistant introduce and demostrate the SoC design, PowerPC and coreconnect bus architecture and PowerPC development respectively. The double-language method is adopted in the training. Students can learn english when they study knowledge on PowerPC. Students don’t only learn much new knowledge on PowerPC, but also can talk with the IBM H/W engineer face to face during the train. And many students hope this kind of train be held frequently. The IBM Power training will persist 17 days in eight different universities in China and the Lanzhou Univsity is the first station. The training is one part of 2007 Summer School organized by DSLab too.
